Pet Fish Care for Beginners
One of the best ways for you to always have a part of nature in your home is an aquarium with fish inside. A variety of colorful, cheerful inhabitants who are swim in front of you, always will cheer you up and relax you at the same time, helping you to forget everyday problems. This will confirm every lover of an aquarium and if you add the fact that the other members of the household and especially children have the opportunity to learn something useful about the life of fish, you will conclude that the tiny aquarium is really useful in many ways. However, before you get in touch with your new water residents look forward to the necessary knowledge to find out what kind of lifestyle that type of fish you are about to raise requires. Everything is generally very simple because apart from the initial preparations you will have little financial obligations and expenditures around the aquarium.
Before you fill the tank with water it is necessary to place it in the appropriate spot in your home. It cannot be a sunny place or a place close to windows or electrical appliances. The best place for an aquarium is the darkest corner of the room and make sure that the base is strong enough and also secure adequate artificial lighting. The safest is not to improvise in this field, but to get a lamp made for an aquarium that will have insure supports/carriers and adequate insulation of cables and switches.
First you should put inside is the appropriate surface for the aquarium and then store the equipment – water filter, air pump, heater, air sprayer and herbs, as well as clay bowls that serve as hiding places. There are several types of filters depending on the size of the aquarium. The best variant is the external multilayer filters with depth and height of the aquarium. For beginners, even the inner filter with 3-4 layers of different purifiers will be perfect. It is important to replace the activated charcoal in designated intervals.
Once you have everything lined up, slowly fill the water that is aged for 3-5 days and lost the scent of substances used for its treatment and a possible debris fell to the bottom as sludge. It is recommended that, before you put fish into the tank, a filter must clean the water for at least 24 hours, while the heater heats the water to the proper optional temperature. There will be likely that the first 2 weeks of water suddenly darkens. Do not worry about that, nor make anything changed because every aquarium (ie. mini ecosystem) must survive this stage of maturation. After you have prepared the aquarium, you can buy fish.
For beginners are recommended goldfish, Guppy, pray, then zebrafish, membranes… Make sure you get some species that you are familiar with, so you won’t get into the situation that you make bad conditions for some fish, which demands different living conditions than other fish in the tank. This usually happens if someone buys an exotic looking fish just for looks, but has no knowledge for raising such fish.
And, of course, do not rush with feeding the fish as soon as you bring them home. It is better to wait for 3-4 days to not cause damage than giving them a lot of flood that can kill fish.
